Brian Mwanamambo is an entrepreneur, economist and business development expert with 16 years’ experience in SME and youth development, private sector development, business incubation and agribusiness development. Currently the CEO of AgBIT Limited – Zambia’s pioneer agribusiness incubator, Brian is also the co-founder and Chairman of Frontier Development Associates Ltd, a leading private sector agribusiness development company in Zambia. Brian also served as Country Programme Coordinator for the United States African Development Foundation and prior to that as Senior Program Manager for SME, Trade and Investment at the Zambia Agribusiness Technical Assistance Centre.
With experience spanning the private sector, non-profits and international development sectors, Brian is also one of the leading agribusiness incubation experts on the continent. He has provided business mentorship to hundreds of youths, SMEs and start-ups across Southern, East and West Africa and regularly conducts training, mentorship and coaching of business incubator managers.
A member of the Board of Directors of the African Agribusiness Incubators Network (AAIN), Brian also sits on the boards of several for-profit and non-profit organizations.
He is also a recipient of the African Women’s Entrepreneurship Programme (AWEP) Leadership Award (which he received in September 2016 in New York, USA), an award that recognizes individuals and institutions for their support and commitment to the cause of creating a sustainable business environment where women entrepreneurs can equitably participate and succeed. His personal business investments have been in the areas agricultural commodity warehousing and trade, off-grid home solar systems, and agribusiness consulting. Brian holds an MSc in Agricultural & Applied Economics from Texas and a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering from University of Zambia.
